UNESCO MGIEP launches its first iTAGe: #iTAGePGA in collaboration with the Office of the President of the United Nations General Assembly

New York— Headquarters, United Nations:

About the main event:

Theme: Education and Sustainable Development Goals – SDG learning

As part of his SDG Action Event series aimed at generating momentum around the implementation of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the President of the General Assembly will convene a High Level SDG Action Event on 28 June focused on SDG 4 ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
This one day event seeks to further galvanize the efforts of the many global alliances and initiatives that are supporting the implementation of SDG 4 and to increase awareness on how best to promote SDG learning in schools and other education institutions.

UNESCO MGIEP’s iTAGe: Talking Across Generations on Education (independently organised)

What is it:
A youth-driven inter-generational dialogue on education designed by UNESCO’s category I institute, the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace, Sustainability and Global Citizenship (MGIEP). This unique platform brings together selected and highly-qualified youth representatives in a face-to-face flat dialogue on education with senior decision makers. UNESCO MGIEP hopes that, by democratising the TAGe, the ultimate goal of mainstreaming the collective voice of the youth in the highest levels of policymaking will be achieved.

Nine highly-qualified youth will engage with 3 senior decision-makers in a no-holds-barred dialogue on Education.

The event will be live streamed and those wanting to tweet in their questions can do so using the #iTAGePGA and #SDG4Action hashtags
