YESPeace Network Partner, VIJANA ASSEMBLY is organising a youth-led event in Tanzania

VIJANA ASSEMBLY, a partner of UNESCO MGIEP’s YESPeace Network, is an NGO organising an event titled ‘Tanzania National Youth Assembly’, which is a conference of talented youth from universities, colleges, businesses and other organisations. The event is scheduled to take place on May 6th and 7th, 2017 at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Morogoro, Tanzania. The objective of the event is to energise and empower young leaders to create a positive change in their communities and respective areas of work / expertise.

Over the course of the two days, youth delegates shall focus on the pressing issues facing Tanzania, which include lack of employment, abuse of women and children rights, climate change, amongst others. Delegates will debate and deliberate, connect, share, formulate and plan for solutions all under a ‘counsel’ of leaders from private and public sectors.

VIJANA ASSEMBLY will then evaluate the effectiveness of this Assembly, such as identifying projects/ventures launched by the youth to solve the challenging issues in the society and also define how these organisations are presently making an impact in their communities. Additionally, it will seek to evaluate the participation in the Assembly as well as the quality of its facilitation and process management.
