UNESCO MGIEP is delighted to announce the 10th edition in it's flagship Distinguished Lecture Series with a lecture by Prof. Ronald Baecker on "What Society Must Require From Artificial intelligence" on February 7, 2020 in New Delhi India.
Ron Baecker is Emeritus Professor of Computer Science, and Founder and Emeritus Director of the Knowledge Media Design Institute and the Technologies for Aging Gracefully lab (TAGlab) at the University of Toronto. He has been named one of the 60 Pioneers of Computer Graphics, has been elected to the CHI (Computers and Human Interaction) Academy, and has been named an ACM Fellow and a Canadian Digital Media Pioneer. He is the author of 5 books, including Computers and Society: Modern Perspectives (OUP, 2019), and Founding Editor of the Synthesis Lectures on Assistive, Rehabilitative, and Health-preserving Technologies (Morgan & Claypool). He has also started 5 software companies.
