Innovative Learning Programme

The Innovative Learning Programme develops new approaches to teaching and learning methods within and outside classrooms, with a focus on information and communication technology (ICT)-based pedagogies.

Our Activities

In order to implement our innovative ideas for teaching and learning, we are taking the lead on the following initiatives:

Transforming Pedagogies

Our pedagogical initiatives utilize the power of information and communication technology (ICT) to make formal, nonformal, and informal educational approaches more effective, engaging, and empowering.

Gaming Initiatives

Increasingly, studies show that video games are not just fun: they’re also highly educational. Our gaming initiatives harness the power of play to transcend national boundaries, hone problem solving skills, and promote empathy.

Public Engagement

UNESCO MGIEP is committed to incubating new ideas and talent in the fields of peace and sustainable development. Through webinars, conferences and other events, we create both real life and virtual spaces for innovative dialogue and action.

The Innovative Learning Programme

The UNESCO MGIEP Innovative Learning Programme develops new approaches to teaching and learning within and outside classrooms, with a focus on information and communication technology (ICT)-based pedagogies. Our interventions foster critical thinking and empathy; democratize access to knowledge; anchor learning in real-life situations; and encourage students to take charge of their own learning. Our projects bridge generations, cultures, identities, and borders to create scalable models for educating the next generation of leaders in peace and sustainable development. Within the programme, our initiatives reflect our philosophy of introducing innovation into everyday teaching and learning strategies.
