YESPeace Pakistan reaches Bahawalpur in South Punjab

YESPeace Pakistan’s partner College of Youth Activism and Development (CYAAD) organised a two-day training for 40 youth facilitators ( 18 male and 22 female) in Bahawalpur, South Punjab on the 25-26th of August 2017.

As the workshop rolled out training sessions on understanding adolescents, facilitation skills and gender for youth facilitators, it was also an orientation session for YESPeace Pakistan and also included sessions on peace and sustainable development. There were sessions on self and identity and exploration of questions such as “Who am I”? It was an interactive workshop with activities such as Trust Walk and group discussions. The workshop was facilitated by Ms Najeeba Syed and Mr Jawad Mirza.

The youth facilitators were selected from youth organisations working in South Punjab and would do direct trainings with young people in the region after the workshop. CYAAD specialises in training of youth facilitators and is a key YESPeace Pakistan Partner working with other youth organisations in Pakistan.

This workshop is part of a series of 6 workshops being organised by YESPeace Pakistan partners i.e. The Little Art, College of Youth Activism and Development (CYAAD) and Pakistan Youth Alliance (PYA/HIVE) in various cities and towns of Pakistan. The partners would be collaborating with each other to provide a diversity of skills to young people all over Pakistan. Held between July and October, these workshops will culminate in a Youth Camp and Fest towards the end of the year.
