About the Conference

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Digital Learning have acquired a renewed relevance and urgency in the face of the COVID-19 crisis, which has disrupted education across the world. In mid-April 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, nearly 1.57 billion students—more than 90 per cent of total enrolled learners—were affected as school and learning institution closures expanded across 200 countries. With its twin focus on SEL and digital learning, TECH 2020 provided unique opportunities to build your knowledge, skills and confidence to incorporate SEL and digital learning in your own practices.

The hands-on workshops at TECH 2020 introduced teachers to SEL and its relevance in the classroom, enable youth to develop their SEL skills and train participants on how to embed SEL in digital curricula.

Who was TECH for?

The focus of the conference was largely on knowledge and capacity building in SEL & Digital Learning, which have found renewed focus in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sessions were interactive in order to provide participants with an opportunity to dialogue, gain knowledge, build capacity, and exchange best practices SEL & digital learning.

Teachers

The current crisis has highlighted the need for digital learning solutions and SEL on scale. TECH 2020 offered a range of workshops, facilitated by global experts in SEL & Digital Learning for teachers, educators, and trainers who are interested in learning about SEL and digital learning.

Youth

With nearly 1.57 billion students across th globe affected due to COVID, SEL can help people cope with stress during and immediately following the crisis period. Youth facilitators and trainers working in the field especially benefitted from the interactive workshops and knowledge exchange at TECH.

Policy makers, curriculum and game designers and other

Mainstreaming SEL into education can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 by allowing all learners to be better prepared to learn and to help develop empathy, compassion and a sense of solidarity with humanity.

TECH 2019 saw over 1,000 diverse stakeholders coming together in Vizag from Dec 10-12 to deliberate on the role of Digital Pedagogies in building sustainable societies.
