Roundtable Discussion: Agenda 2080: A case for Global Sustainable Flourishing Goals

Development to what end? This is a foundational question that we really have not addressed when designing and implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. Is defining 17 goals by themselves sufficient? Development by definition is a process and should our aspirations be confined to a process? Should we strive for a loftier end state? And if yes, what should be that end state- could it be flourishing? And if yes, What does it mean to flourish and how can we move towards a goal for flourishing? Is there a need for rethinking our education, work, technology and governance structures?
