Gaming and Digital Learning Hub in Andhra Pradesh, India
UNESCO MGIEP, The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board join forces for unique Gaming and Digital Learning Hub in the state.
The first day of the international Ed-Tech Conference, Transforming Education Conference for Humanity (TECH) 2017 began with the announcement of a strategic partnership between the Education Ministry of the Andhra Government, the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board and the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) to develop the state into a hub of Games and Digital Learning.
The partnership is in line with the Vision 2029 framework of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh and he strongly believes that if technological advancements and modernized methodologies of education come to the state the youth will be empowered to reach their full potential.
UNESCO MGIEP will bring to the partnership its expertise on digital pedagogies that foster peace and sustainable development. The Hub is envisioned to be the place where multiple stakeholders viz., policy makers, knowledge and research partners, educators, learning science specialists, psychologists, technology providers, financial investors, companies come together to work towards rolling out products for learning based on well-designed pedagogies that build critical inquiry, cognitive skills and also social-emotional skills; using deeply immersive and experiential learning methodologies.
